Gordon Rowing was founded in 2015 with the desire to grow the sport at Gordon College. What started out as a student club with just a few athletes and occasionally no coach has grown into one of the more successful collegiate sculling programs in the US. With a focus on small boats and a philosophy to train every athlete for any boat, any side, any time, the program is now the home for Gordon's Heavy Men, Light Men, Light Women, and Open Women. The Rowing Center, which serves as a boathouse, training center, and home base for the program (coaches' offices are NOT located in the Bennett Center), is also home to our community club program, Gordon Rowing Association. GRA provides employment for collegiate athletes as well as racing opportunities for students from all the north shore public schools through the Gordon Juniors scholastic incubator and the Gordon Juniors program, and offers recreational and competitive rowing opportunities to several masters as well. The Rowing Center itself also boasts some of the last available rack space in eastern MA, and is situated on picturesque Chebacco Lake on the Essex side.
